One of hip-hop’s most influential producers, DJ Premier, remembers taking photos with recently deceased Noble Prize winner, Nelson Mandela.
“His Grandson is a huge fan and asked for a chance to meet me in exchange to meet his grandfather,” said the 47-year-old living legend, DJ Premier (also known as Preem and Premo). “I thought it was a joke but the pictures don’t lie. I still cannot believe it”.
DJ Premier would eventually meet and take a few photos with Nelson Mandela and his grandson reports the website DJPremierBlog. Ironically, you can see (if you look really closely… I mean really close, closer) DJ Premier is wearing a t-shirt with the photo of himself and the great MC, Guru, who died of cancer a few years ago. DJ Premier and Guru were in a group called Gang Starr. It’s like he took Guru with him to meet Mandela.
“I will not stop staying positive and sharing my energy with people who could use some of it and learn from it… have a blessed day,” said DJ Premier on the fan website, DJPremierBog.
